Quilt King

Smithson, Inc. has been quilting for the wholesale trade for over 60 years. Taking advantage of this experience, we are proud to offer the Quilt King system which we have developed and manufacture. Our Research and Development Department is the quilting workroom and these machines are in use in our plants at the present time.

Smithson, Inc. is the originator of the modern longarm machine quilting revolution. Starting at our operation in Stover, Missouri, we hand-built many different quilting machines of our own design for decades. The founder of “brand N” worked for us before he went out on his own and began building machines for himself and also for the other well-known “brand G.”

The Quilt King is suited for Outline quilting, Freehand designs, and Marked patterns by means of a built-in fluorescent light. Smithson, Inc. has spent years developing and improving a quilting system with greater productivity, higher quality, and less maintenance. The Quilt King has self-lubricated, sealed ball bearings on the mainshafts which make forcleaner operation. The machine carriage wheels also roll on ball bearings.

Easy To Operate

The Quilt King has been specifically engineered for easy loading and operating. A variable speed control allows inexperienced quilters to progress efficiently to faster production capabilities, with less training time.

Greater Productivity

The Quilt King’s light weight (38 Ibs./17.3 kg) means less operator fatigue, and its motor draws only 2 amps. The benefits of a lighter weight machine cannot be overstated. Some brands show off how you can move their machine with your finger. Try long hours or quilting and changing directions with a heavy machine- it wears on you. Intertia is a factor of weight. You can’t change physics.

Higher Quality

Quilt King’s freely-moving Pantagraph quilting  design and built-in light fixture make even the most intricate quilting simple. As the fabric does not move, wrinkling is not a problem on either side of the fabric.

Fewer Problems

The sewing head is the ultimate in simplicity. Rollers, ratchet wheels, dogs and frame ends are all made of steel. Self-lubricated, sealed ball bearings make for clean operation.

Value

The Quilt King’s price has made it popular in both the U.S. and around the world. Its affordability makes it practical for both new businesses and expanding ones. $9,995 (Head and Table)
